With Spring in full bloom, allergy sufferers around the U.S. are stocking up on tissues and Claritin, but they’re not the only ones that are suffering. Many dogs across the world suffer from various forms of allergy, and the warm weather brings a host of challenges. Different dogs experience allergies in different ways, so look out for any of the following symptoms:

Ear Scratching/Shaking Of The Head – This if often a symptom of inhalant allergies, similar to our seasonal allergies. Imagine if you had an itch that you just couldn’t reach! That’s how dogs often feel with seasonal allergies. Their ear flaps may become red and hot, and they’ll scratch to get relief until they hurt themselves.  You can try washing their ears with a cool cloth and an all natural anti itch spray, or an organic ear aid relief kit.

Rubbing Face On Carpeting – This can be both a symptom of inhalant allergies and food allergies, so it’s best to look for it in concert with other symptoms. If they’re scratching and rubbing their face, you might need to treat seasonal allergies. Also check for gastrointestinal problems that might be a sign of food allergies.

Chewing On Feet – Again, this can be a symptom of multiple types of allergies. You can treat the symptom with an itch relief spray, and you can also buy conditioning paw treatments that will help their paw pads stay healthy and clean. Wash their paws regularly to avoid build up of dirt and allergens.

Vomiting – If your dog is vomiting, or even if they have loose stool or a lot of flatulence, they might have a food allergy. It’s not uncommon for dogs to have problems with one or more of the ingredients in their food. The easiest way to test this is to give the dog a special diet and slowly test different foods until the culprit is caught.

With a little bit of care, you can effectively manage your  dog’s allergies and live a happy and healthy life together!

Dogs by nature are playful, excitable, and active creatures. It is this playfulness and excitement that helps them bring happiness and joy to our lives. But a lifetime of jumping, running and sitting can be tough enough on us humans. Imagine how your dog's joints might start feeling as they get older. If you want to keep you dog playing as if he or she was still a puppy, then you might want to consider using dog joint supplements from Golden Pet Supplies.

What Can They Do For My Dog?

Dog joints supplements typically contain glucosamine and chondroitin. These two minerals are the building blocks of cartilage. Therefore, these two minerals can help repair some joint damage and maintain joint space to help prevent further deterioration. Likewise, chondroitin helps keep joints lubricated so that your dog can maintain flexibility and ease of movement.

Dog joint supplements from Golden Pet Supplies are made specifically to keep not only your dog's joints strong and healthy, but to also maintain the health of the other critical systems of your dog’s body. Dog joint supplements from Golden Pet Supplies contain a number of minerals and substances that are designed specifically for the improvement of joint health and beyond. The first unique ingredient in our brand Joint Re-Leaf™ is quercetin. Quercetin is an all natural flavonoid which is extracted from sources such as the skins of apples, green tea, and black cherries, which also makes it a powerful antioxidant. For the canine body, this flavonoid is capable of acting as an anti-inflammatory and an anti-histamine as well. Therefore Joint Re-Leaf™ is a powerful dog joint supplement that can help reduce and eliminate the pain that arises from arthritis, and also benefit other critical systems of the body. Recent studies have also shown that quercetin can also help with allergies and may even help prevent cancer.

Unlike most of the dog joint supplements on the market, Joint Re-Leaf™ also contains powerful Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids act as an anti-inflammatory, but can also provide vast health benefits to your dog's heart, weight management, brain and eye development, coat, and skin.

So with Joint Re-Leaf™, you can keep your dog playing as if he or she was a puppy for years to come. It’s all possible with the help Joint Re-Leaf™, an all natural dog joint supplement, which is proudly manufactured in the U.S.A, available from Golden Pet Supplies.

We’ve had a couple of people approach us as of late and ask us about the benefits of choosing all natural and organic dog supplies like our bamboo dog collars and bamboo dog leashes. It’s a great question and one that we thought deserved a little more attention.

Think about this, what does your dog spend more time around than his collar? It’s around his neck all day long, so shouldn’t it be something that’s good for him? Both his collar and leash are probably made of nylon, which is a mixed bag for those trying to live a green lifestyle. It’s true that nylon lasts a long time, so it won’t need to be replaced very often, but when it does, that collar and leash will take a very long time to break down. Burning them in the trash is even worse, as it can release toxic chemicals.

This is the beauty of the full line of bamboo collars and leashes we carry from Wagging Green. Not only is it 100% organic, but it’s also naturally anti-bacterial, odor resistant and hypoallergenic. They’re less likely to irritate your pet’s skin if they have allergies, and less likely to retain odors over time. At prices that range from $17 to just shy of $30, they’re affordable too!

With so many wonderful patterns and styles available, there’s no reason not to get one for your pooch. Do something good for your dog and the environment with bamboo dog collars and bamboo dog leashes!

The last thing you want is for your home to smell like a wet dog. But with a dog in the house (who probably does get wet, and muddy, and dirty) it’s inevitable that after a while things might end up smelling less than fresh. There are a lot of things you can do to keep your home smelling clean while still living an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Clean Regularly – Sweep up and vacuum at least once a week to keep pet hair from collecting and to get rid of the pet dander that causes allergies. If you have a larger dog, or one that sheds a lot, you might want to bump up your cleaning to twice a week. Don’t forget to clean couches and beds if you let your dogs up on them.

Wash Bedding – Your dog’s eco-friendly bed should be on your list of things to vacuum, and if you can remove the cover, you should wash it once a month along with any blankets your pet uses. Just like your bedding, without regular washing things will start to get not so fresh as dander and grime begin to build up.

Neutralize Odors – After you’ve cleaned up, you should be almost odor free. Part of the joy of living with a dog is accepting and loving them, smells, drool and all. But if you need a little extra help, there are several safe, green odor removing products out there that you can use. Light a candle and use some spray to give your home that extra burst of freshness it needs!
