At GoldenPetSupplies.com, we're proud of each and every ingredient that we include in our products, including Joint Re-Leaf, our canine joint supplement. A few people have asked us about the ingredients included in Joint Re-Leaf, specifically, they want to know more about Quercetin.

Quercetin is a flavonoid, which is derived from sources like green tea and apples. Lab studies have shown it to have powerful anti-inflamatory and antioxident properties, and scientists continue to research it to fully understand it's potential. Like any vitamin or mineral, it's best used as as a supplement to an already healthy diet. Since dogs tend to eat less fruits and vegetables than we would, adding Quercetin in to their diet via Joint Re-Leaf is an excellent way to make sure they're getting ample amounts to help them with their joint pain.

On top of all these benefits, early research indicates that Quercetin may reduce the risks of cancer. The American Cancer Society is continuing to research this, but it's an added benefit for dogs who may be pre-disposed to certain types of cancer.

Interested in learning more? Leave us a comment or try a bottle of Joint Re-Leaf yourself and watch your dog get a little more spring in his step. You can see the benefts of Quercetin first hand!

We’ve had a couple of people approach us as of late and ask us about the benefits of choosing all natural and organic dog supplies like our bamboo dog collars and bamboo dog leashes. It’s a great question and one that we thought deserved a little more attention.

Think about this, what does your dog spend more time around than his collar? It’s around his neck all day long, so shouldn’t it be something that’s good for him? Both his collar and leash are probably made of nylon, which is a mixed bag for those trying to live a green lifestyle. It’s true that nylon lasts a long time, so it won’t need to be replaced very often, but when it does, that collar and leash will take a very long time to break down. Burning them in the trash is even worse, as it can release toxic chemicals.

This is the beauty of the full line of bamboo collars and leashes we carry from Wagging Green. Not only is it 100% organic, but it’s also naturally anti-bacterial, odor resistant and hypoallergenic. They’re less likely to irritate your pet’s skin if they have allergies, and less likely to retain odors over time. At prices that range from $17 to just shy of $30, they’re affordable too!

With so many wonderful patterns and styles available, there’s no reason not to get one for your pooch. Do something good for your dog and the environment with bamboo dog collars and bamboo dog leashes!

We all want the best possible things for our canine friends.  At Golden Pet Supplies, we strive to bring you the best in terms of eco friendly and organic products to help make both your dog and the planet happy.  One item that every dog needs is a collar.  If you are dedicated to keeping the planet healthy, then you may want to consider an eco friendly dog collar.

Advantages for Your Dog

An eco friendly dog collar has a number of advantages for your pet.  Due to the material that they are made out of, these collars are extremely tough and durable.  This is perfect for the dog that loves to play, or who loves to be outside.  Also, an eco friendly dog collar is a wonderful choice for the dog who likes to play in the woods or loves to go in the water.  These collars are naturally anti-bacterial, are odor resistant, and are fast drying.  So not only will these collars hold your dog's identification tag, but they will also help keep you pooch healthy.

Advantages for the Planet

Preserving the planet is an important task that we must all undertake.  You can help keep the planet green simply by selecting an eco friendly dog collar.  The primary material in these dog collars is bamboo.  Bamboo is technically a type of grass and therefore is extremely fast growing, so the supply is virtually endless.  Likewise, by harvesting bamboo instead of normal lumber, our forests will not be as heavily taxed.  This will allow for lumber supplies to last longer and for new trees to have a chance to grow.  It is a win-win situation.

So consider an eco friendly dog collar for your animal friend.  There are a variety sizes and colors available at Golden Pet Supplies.  Help keep your pup and the planet happy, safe, and healthy all at the same time.

The last thing you want is for your home to smell like a wet dog. But with a dog in the house (who probably does get wet, and muddy, and dirty) it’s inevitable that after a while things might end up smelling less than fresh. There are a lot of things you can do to keep your home smelling clean while still living an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Clean Regularly – Sweep up and vacuum at least once a week to keep pet hair from collecting and to get rid of the pet dander that causes allergies. If you have a larger dog, or one that sheds a lot, you might want to bump up your cleaning to twice a week. Don’t forget to clean couches and beds if you let your dogs up on them.

Wash Bedding – Your dog’s eco-friendly bed should be on your list of things to vacuum, and if you can remove the cover, you should wash it once a month along with any blankets your pet uses. Just like your bedding, without regular washing things will start to get not so fresh as dander and grime begin to build up.

Neutralize Odors – After you’ve cleaned up, you should be almost odor free. Part of the joy of living with a dog is accepting and loving them, smells, drool and all. But if you need a little extra help, there are several safe, green odor removing products out there that you can use. Light a candle and use some spray to give your home that extra burst of freshness it needs!

As we mentioned before, February is the National Veterinary's Association Pet Dental Health Month. Vets across the United States want every pet owner to take the time and investigate their pet's mouth.

Does your pet have bad breath? Do you just pass it off as a dog or cat thing? Well, the vets of the country want you to know that it may actually be the start of a serious oral health condition.

An oral health problem may lead to other complications such as loss of teeth, loss of appetite, weigh loss, and systemic diseases. All of these complications can be avoided, so long as you check your pet regularly for bad breath or gum line discoloration – and if you do regular cleanings.

It is recommended that your pet gets a professional teeth cleaning once a year. Now is the time to make an appointment to ensure that your dog's teeth and gums are healthy and clean.

So keep your pet smiling, and be aware of the possibility of oral disease. Remember – Pet Dental Health Month shouldn't be the only time you take time out of your day to focus on your pup's teeth. Make sure you are feeding your dog treats that prevent tartar and are giving your pup regular brushing to avoid the risk of serious dental health issues.
